Mumbai: A 35-year-old woman allegedly ended her life by jumping from the sixth floor of Cooper Hospital in Vile Parle on Friday.

The deceased, identified as Rabiya Khan from Jogeshwari, had been admitted to the hospital three days earlier for treatment of a liver ailment.

According to Juhu police, the incident occurred around 5 AM when Khan’s teenage daughter, who had fallen asleep in the ward, woke up to find her mother missing. She immediately alerted her father, who was resting outside the ladies’ ward.

While searching for her, Khan’s husband found her body in the hospital compound. She was lying in a pool of blood and was pronounced dead by the hospital staff.

Police officers reported that the family shared Khan had been battling depression due to her liver condition. With no evidence of foul play, an accidental death report (ADR) has been filed.
