Oil India Limited Grants ₹2.5 Crore for Oncology Department Upgrade
Shillong, March 17: In a significant boost to cancer treatment facilities in Meghalaya, Oil India Limited has provided a ₹2.5 crore Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) grant to the Dishayen Foundation. This funding will facilitate the installation of state-of-the-art CO₂ diode machines in the Oncology Department of Tura Civil Hospital.
The move is expected to greatly improve cancer care services in the Garo Hills region, ensuring better treatment options for patients.
Chief Minister Appreciates CSR Initiative
Expressing gratitude for the contribution, Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma stated,
“The CSR support will have a lasting impact on strengthening health infrastructure in the state, especially for cancer patients in Garo Hills.”
He further emphasized the government’s commitment to improving healthcare by collaborating with organizations that share the vision of enhancing medical accessibility in Meghalaya.
This initiative is a crucial step toward expanding cancer care in the region and ensuring that advanced treatment options are available closer to home for many patients.
