Madurai : In line with the direction of National Medical Commission to completely eradicate the menace of quacks in the medical system, Tamil Nadu’s Medical Council (TNMC) has formed “ Quackery eradication wing” with the exclusive aim of handling quacks posing as practicing doctors. The TNMC has secured a email “quackery@tamilnadumedicalcouncil.org” which is exclusively meant for accepting complaints against quacks in Tamil Nadu. Dr K Senthil, State President of the Council stated that anybody can file a complaint at the prescribed email. He added that the council has received 40 valid complaints and the council is conducting enquiry so as to collect evidence against the quacks for prosecuting them. Dr. K Senthil added that the council was closely monitoring the advertisements in TV Channels and newspapers that mislead common people with promises of cure or quick heal for certain ailments.
