A shocking incident from Jodhpur has once again highlighted the growing danger posed by stray animals in urban areas, after a young doctor lost her life in a brutal roadside attack.
Doctor Attacked While Returning Home from Duty
The tragic incident occurred on Sunday night in the Karwad police station area when a 29-year-old homoeopathic doctor was heading home after completing her shift at an Ayurveda University.
At around 8:15 pm, near Tunt Bari, a stray bull suddenly charged at her while she was riding her scooter. The unexpected attack knocked her off balance, throwing her onto the road.
Severe Head Injury Proves Fatal
Eyewitnesses reported that the bull’s horn struck her head with force, causing a deep and critical injury. The impact led to heavy bleeding, leaving her in a critical condition within moments.
Passersby immediately rushed to help and arranged for her to be taken to Mathura Das Mathur Hospital for emergency treatment. Despite the medical team’s efforts, she succumbed to her injuries later that night due to excessive blood loss.
Victim’s Background and Police Action
The deceased doctor was originally from Hindaun and was working on a contractual basis at the university. Authorities informed her family, who arrived the next day.
According to Assistant Sub-Inspector Banshilal, a post-mortem examination was conducted before the body was handed over to the family.
Eyewitness Accounts Paint Grim Picture
Locals present at the scene described the horrifying moment, stating that the bull’s horn had penetrated her head, leading to profuse bleeding. Although immediate help was provided, the severity of the injury made survival unlikely.
Rising Concern Over Stray Animal Menace
This heartbreaking case has once again raised serious concerns about the unchecked presence of stray animals on city roads. Residents and civic observers have questioned the lack of effective measures by authorities to control such incidents.
A similar concern was recently highlighted in Pune, where a senior Army doctor was attacked by a group of stray dogs, reigniting debates over public safety and animal management.
Growing Demand for Action
With repeated incidents being reported across cities, citizens are urging stricter policies, better monitoring, and immediate action from municipal bodies to prevent such tragedies in the future.
