Patient with Leg Injury Prescribed Hand Scan; Delayed Blood Test Costs Boy’s Life
Chennai: Government Stanley Medical College Hospital in Chennai is facing allegations of serious medical negligence, including incorrect scan prescriptions and delayed test results, leading to tragic consequences.
According to a Thanthi TV report, these issues have surfaced following the retirement of the hospital director two months ago.
Wrong Scan Prescribed for Elderly Woman
Kaleeswari, an elderly woman from Tondiarpet, visited the hospital seeking treatment for a leg injury. However, doctors allegedly mistakenly prescribed a hand scan instead, raising concerns over the hospital’s diagnostic practices.
Delayed Blood Test Leads to Tragic Death
In another case, Gokul, a young boy also from Tondiarpet, was admitted with breathing problems. Doctors assured his family that his blood test results would be available in 10 minutes, but the process was reportedly delayed by three hours. Despite receiving treatment, the boy tragically passed away.
These incidents have sparked outrage among patients and their families, calling attention to the hospital’s alleged lapses in patient care.
