New Delhi : The All India Institute of Medical Science(AIIMS) reported a massive cyber attack on its server badly hitting the patient care services which included appointments, registration, admission, discharge and report generation among other services. The cyber attack is suspected to be a “ransomware” where-in the hackers’ demand money for the restoration of the services. The cyber attack has happened when AIIMS had announced of going paperless from January 1, 2023 and also going completely digital from April,2023. The National Informatics Centre (NIC) responsible for the digitization of AIIMS has reported the cyber attack to the law enforcement agencies. Officials of the NIC are taken all  efforts to restore the services at the AIIMS. All the services at AIIMS are running in manual mode because of the cyber attack.
