
Government Announces Key Administrative Appointments
Jammu, March 21: Senior IAS officer Raghav Langer has been appointed as the Secretary of the National Medical Commission (NMC) under the Department of Health and Family Welfare. Meanwhile, another senior IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre, Sushma Chauhan, has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
These appointments were part of a larger decision by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), which elevated 35 IAS officers to the rank of Joint Secretary or equivalent at Level 14 of the pay matrix.

- Raghav Langer (IAS, UD: 2009)
- Appointed as Secretary, NMC (JS level) under the Department of Health and Family Welfare.
- His tenure will last until October 3, 2025, or until further orders, replacing Sandhya Bhullar (IAS, GJ: 2003).
- Sushma Chauhan (IAS, UT: 2009)
- Appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
- She will serve for an overall tenure of 5 years up to December 7, 2027, replacing B C Joshi (IOFS: 1992).
These appointments reflect the government’s efforts to strengthen key administrative roles across crucial sectors like healthcare and internal affairs.
