Etah : Police in Uttar Pradesh’s Etah have lodged a case against an alleged ‘fake doctor’ who operated on a two-and-and-a-half-month-old baby boy leading to the infant’s death during surgery, officials said on Thursday. According to the police, the fake doctor, identified as Tilak Singh, conducted a minor surgery on the baby boy who died due to excessive bleeding during the operation.

An official said that Tilak Singh allegedly fled the scene without informing the family about the baby’s demise during surgery. A report quoting Chief Medical Officer Umesh Chandra Tripathi said the health department has ordered an investigation into the incident. CMO Tripathi said the police has registered an FIR into the matter, adding that further probe is underway.
