Unqualified Practitioner Under Scrutiny in Banjara Hills

Hyderabad: Growing concerns about unqualified medical practitioners in Telangana have led to another quack being investigated by the Telangana Medical Council (TSMC). Operating under the name “Dr. VRK,” the individual allegedly treats patients in Banjara Hills without any valid medical credentials.

Promoting the Dubious “VRK Diet”

The accused is known for promoting a self-styled “VRK Diet,” claiming it can address serious health conditions such as type 1 diabetes, cancer, and chronic kidney disease. This diet plan reportedly involves dietary recommendations alongside extensive prescriptions, despite the practitioner’s lack of medical qualifications.

Illegal Practices Exposed

Beyond the unverified dietary plans, the individual is accused of prescribing modern medicines and vitamins without holding a medical degree or registration with the Telangana Medical Council or the National Medical Commission. The misuse of a prescription pad with a fabricated name further revealed the fraudulent nature of his practice.

Community and Regulatory Action

The medical community has raised alarms, urging strict action against the quack. Dr. Naresh Kumar, a member of TSMC, told The Times of India, “He is leveraging an honorary doctorate to claim medical authority, misleading patients into believing he is a qualified medical doctor.” Following multiple complaints, the Telangana Medical Council has initiated an official investigation.

A Recurring Issue in Telangana

This incident comes on the heels of a similar case in Ramantapur, where another individual was caught posing as a licensed doctor. The TSMC uncovered that the fake doctor was administering distilled water injections under the guise of legitimate treatment. The practitioner also used unauthorized antibiotics and steroids, further endangering patient safety.

The Telangana Medical Council continues its efforts to crack down on unqualified individuals jeopardizing public health through fraudulent practices.
