Amritsar: The Punjab government has made compulsory for the doctors to give duty at Mohalla Clinic after completing MBBS. Doctors after completing MBBS from medical colleges of Punjab will no longer get direct placement in hospitals. The doctors after completing MBBS will have to complete two or three years of practice in Mohalla Clinic and then they will be sent to big hospitals.Earlier, it was very rare that doctors after doing MBBS were appointed in dispensaries in rural areas.
