Doctors Warn She May Not Survive a Transfer

Rajamahendravaram: A six-member team of doctors has ruled out the possibility of transferring a 23-year-old female pharmacy intern, who allegedly attempted suicide, to another hospital for treatment. The decision comes as her health condition remains critical, with doctors warning that she would not survive a transfer.

Brain Function Severely Affected

According to Dr. P.V.V. Satyanarayana, head of General Medicine at Government General Hospital, Rajamahendravaram, the victim’s brain has nearly stopped functioning, and she remains on a ventilator. “She will die if the ventilator is switched off. Her condition does not allow for a transfer, as multiple organs, including her liver, are affected,” he stated.

Intern’s Alleged Suicide Attempt

The 23-year-old intern from KIMS-Bollineni Hospital, Rajamahendravaram, is currently undergoing critical care treatment after she allegedly self-administered a drug in the hospital on March 24, in an apparent suicide attempt.

Medical Team Continues Monitoring

A special medical team has been assigned to monitor her condition and issue daily health bulletins. The hospital continues to provide intensive care, as concerns grow over her survival chances.
