Chandigarh: The Mohfw dictate of wearing ethnic attire for convocation has led to PGIMER, Chandigarh breaking the tradition of wearing colonial robes and caps during convocation. The doctors will wear ethnic attire which will include off white kurta pyjama for men and sarees for women. PGI will be the first institute in medical science to adopt the order of the health ministry. A total of 1550 degrees shall be presented in the convocation to be held on October 6. The students have been asked by PGI to get the required dress for the convocation.
