Janki Foundation & Shri Chaitanya Health Trust Join Hands for Major Healthcare Initiative

Palghar: The Janki Foundation, led by US-based philanthropists Shri Mahesh Navani and Smt. Asha Navani, in partnership with the Shri Chaitanya Health and Care Trust, has announced a landmark healthcare project — a 100-bedded rural multi-specialty hospital in Wada, Palghar.
The hospital’s foundation stone will be laid on 30 November 2025, and the facility is expected to become operational within two years.

Hospital to Be Named After Asha Navani in Lasting Recognition

In recognition of the collaboration, the upcoming health facility will be named:
“Bhaktivedanta Hospital and Research Institute – Asha Navani Multi Specialty Rural Hospital.”
This name will be retained in perpetuity as a tribute to the donors’ contribution to rural healthcare.

Facility to Serve Nearly 1 Million People in Tribal Belts

The hospital is designed to cater to the rural and tribal populations across Wada, Jawhar, Mokhada, and Vikramgad, collectively benefitting almost 10 lakh residents.
It will offer services across all major departments, supporting patients from neonatal and pediatric stages to adult and geriatric care.

A key focus area will be women and child health, addressing the region’s high infant and maternal mortality rates through improved maternal care and postpartum services.

Bhaktivedanta Hospital Network to Serve as Operational Model

The upcoming facility will be modeled after the 300-bedded NABH-accredited Bhaktivedanta Hospital, Mira Road, operated by the same Trust.
The Trust also manages multiple hospitals and community health centres across India, including facilities in Barsana, Vrindavan, Vasai, Wada, and Hamirpur.

Part of Massive 70-Acre Govardhan Eco Village (GEV-2) Campus

The new hospital will form a crucial part of the planned GEV-2 multi-facility campus, which will additionally house:

  • Integrated Wellness Centre
  • Assisted Living Care
  • School of Mindful Leadership
  • Co-Ed English Medium School
  • Food Processing & Handicraft Units
  • Helipad
Spread across 70 acres, the campus aims to transform rural development through a blend of healthcare, education, and sustainable living.

Leaders Emphasize Holistic and Compassionate Healthcare

Philanthropist Mahesh Navani highlighted the pressing healthcare challenges in Palghar’s tribal areas despite proximity to Mumbai, stating the project aims to bring long-term, meaningful change.

His Holiness Radhanath Swami added that the hospital would integrate physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being, ensuring world-class care even for those in remote regions.

Gauranga Das, Director of Govardhan Eco Village, emphasized a health model inspired by the teachings of Srila Prabhupada, focusing on holistic development, dignity, and cultural values.

Trust Expresses Gratitude to Donors

Shri Hrishikesh Mafatlal, Trustee, expressed deep gratitude to the Janki Foundation and the Navani family for supporting this major initiative that aims to bridge critical health gaps in Palghar district.
