New Delhi: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has recently notified medical colleges regarding the application for starting new Postgraduate (PG) medical courses in an established medical institution, establishing a new postgraduate medical institution (standalone PG institute) and increase of seats in existing postgraduate medical courses for the academic year 2025-26.

Elaborating the same, the NMC (Recognition of Medical Qualification} Regulations, 2023, prescribes the procedure for the inclusion of new medical qualifications. As per the official notice, “Any medical institution conferring an undergraduate or postgraduate or super-speciality medical qualification may apply to the concerned board, along with such documents and information, for inclusion of any new medical qualification, which is not already included in the list.”  All medical colleges/ institutes who wish to apply for a new PG medical qualification that are not been included in annexure-1, 11, 111, IV, V and VI of Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations-2023, are requested to share an application form for starting a new qualification.
