Hisar, Haryana – A murder case has been registered following the suspicious death of 25-year-old medical student Bhavna Yadav from Rajasthan. The case has been filed against Umesh Yadav, a youth from Hisar, based on a complaint by Bhavna’s mother, Gayatri Devi.
Details of the Incident
On April 24, Umesh brought Bhavna to a hospital in Hisar with 80 percent burn injuries. Due to her critical condition, she was referred to SMS Hospital in Jaipur, where she died the same night.
Gayatri Devi, in her complaint, alleged that Bhavna’s death was planned and claimed that her daughter had been murdered. According to Gayatri, Bhavna had completed her MBBS in the Philippines in 2023 and was preparing for the Medical Council of India (MCI) exam in Delhi. She often stayed with her younger sister, who is preparing for the UPSC exam.
Mother’s Allegations
Gayatri Devi mentioned that Bhavna was with her sister on April 21 and 22, and they last spoke on April 23. Bhavna had told her mother that she would return home on April 24. However, on that day, Umesh called Gayatri and informed her that Bhavna had suffered severe burn injuries and was admitted to a private hospital in Hisar.
Upon reaching the hospital, Gayatri found her daughter with 80 percent burn injuries. She claimed that she noticed sharp weapon injury marks on Bhavna’s stomach, while the majority of her face and body were severely burnt. Gayatri has alleged that Bhavna was attacked with a sharp weapon before being set on fire.
Furthermore, Gayatri reported that Bhavna’s laptop, mobile, and several important documents were missing, which she believes might be part of a well-planned conspiracy. She has demanded a thorough investigation into the incident.
Investigation and Police Response
The police have registered a Zero FIR based on Gayatri’s complaint and forwarded it to the Civil Lines police station in Hisar. Kavita, in-charge of the Civil Lines police station, confirmed that an investigation will begin once they receive the Zero FIR. She mentioned that Umesh Yadav, who brought Bhavna to the hospital, is an important link in the case. Police will question him to determine whether this is a case of murder, suicide, or accident.
Additionally, the police have sought information from the hospital about the location and condition in which Bhavna was brought to the facility.
