Scores 92.33% on All 15 Health Service Parameters Prescribed by Ministry of Health
Mungeli, Chhattisgarh:
In a remarkable achievement, the District Hospital of Mungeli has been awarded the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certification by the National Health Mission, under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, after securing an impressive 92.33% score across 15 crucial health service parameters.
Mungeli District Magistrate Kundan Kumar lauded the hospital staff, terming the recognition a “matter of pride for the district” and a “milestone towards delivering better health services.” He congratulated all health workers and officials, urging them to continue maintaining the same level of quality and commitment.
Six Months of Preparation and Team Effort
Civil Surgeon Dr M.K. Roy revealed that the team had been preparing rigorously for the last six months. “An inspection team from Delhi visited for grading. This success has been possible due to strong teamwork, and we will keep striving for even better service delivery,” he said.
Remarkable Performance Across All Key Areas
RMO Dr Sandeep Kumar Patil emphasized that District Hospital Mungeli performed exceptionally in critical areas such as:
- Infection control
- Patient care and satisfaction
- Clinical services
- Record management
- Cleanliness
- Trained human resources
“The Ministry’s inspection team expressed satisfaction with the hospital’s facilities and operations,” he added. As part of the NQAS certification benefits, the hospital will now receive an annual incentive of ₹10,000 per bed for the next three years — based on its 240-bed capacity.
Recognizing Staff and Community Contribution
Hospital Manager Surabhi Kesharwani, Matron Divya Masih, and the entire hospital team played key roles in this achievement. Masih noted that eight to ten deliveries are successfully conducted daily at the hospital, with close monitoring and high standards of care.
A relative of a patient, Himesh Kumar Khandekar, praised the hospital’s facilities and services, stating that treatment, hygiene, and patient management were commendable. The Ayushman card facility is also being effectively used by many common citizens, further boosting patient satisfaction.
This NQAS certification places Mungeli District Hospital among the top-performing public healthcare institutions in India — setting a benchmark for quality service and patient-centric care.
