Allegations of Misuse of Personal Photos
A woman in Mohali has accused a dentist, Dr Gagandeep Kaur from Fazilka, of uploading and tagging her personal photos on Instagram with the intent to defame her within her family. The complainant alleged her private pictures, earlier shared with a common friend, were misused and distorted.
Creation of Fake Instagram IDs
According to the police complaint, two fake Instagram accounts were created, and the photos were tagged on the victim’s brothers’ accounts, causing further embarrassment.
Doctor Denies Wrongdoing, Claims Victim’s Consent
During questioning, Dr Kaur admitted tagging the photos but claimed she acted at the victim’s request. She alleged the complainant wanted her to create fake accounts and tag the images to stop her family from fixing her marriage elsewhere.
Police Investigation Underway
When asked to provide proof, Dr Kaur said the related WhatsApp chats had been deleted. Police have registered a case under the IT Act, and further investigation is ongoing.
Bengaluru Bus Stop Dispute Sparks Language Row
Migrant Commuter’s Allegations
A migrant commuter, Aditya Raj Agarwal, accused a BMTC bus driver and conductor of assault and verbal abuse after they allegedly refused to stop at a location shown on Google Maps. He claimed the conductor insulted him for not speaking Kannada and later posted a video on X tagging the police and BMTC.
Social Media Backlash Against Commuter
The video sparked backlash, with many Kannadigas and Bengalureans defending the BMTC staff. Several users argued that Agarwal exaggerated the issue by “playing the Hindi victim card.” They stressed that Vayu Vajra buses have fixed stops and do not halt everywhere.
Language Sensitivity and Migration Debate
Supporters of the staff said the crew were simply uncomfortable speaking Hindi and were trying to explain themselves. Some also linked the controversy to growing tensions over migration, arguing that disputes should not be turned into language issues.
