Mumbai: Lilavati Hospital has announced plans to establish a 300-bed Cancer Care Institute in Mumbai, aimed at delivering advanced cancer treatment and personalized care.
The institute will integrate global best practices and cutting-edge technology to offer tailored treatments based on individual patient needs. This initiative seeks to reduce the need for patients to travel abroad for cancer care, thereby saving time and costs.
Apart from enhancing patient care, the facility will generate employment opportunities for healthcare professionals, researchers, and support staff, contributing to the local economy and Mumbai’s healthcare sector.
The Cancer Care Institute will feature AI-driven diagnostic tools for early cancer detection, improving survival rates and outcomes. Awareness campaigns on cancer risks, symptoms, and prevention will also be launched to promote health and wellness in the community.
Additionally, Lilavati Hospital has partnered with the Mayo Clinic to launch the Nursing Excellence Program. This collaboration aims to enhance the skills of nursing staff through specialized training in areas such as patient care, safety, and leadership. Nurses completing the program will receive certificates from the Mayo Clinic.
In a video message from Davos, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis congratulated Lilavati Hospital and the Mayo Clinic, emphasizing the transformative potential of the program for nursing education in India. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also praised the initiative, highlighting the importance of strengthening healthcare infrastructure and accessibility across Maharashtra.
