New Delhi: Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has approved the deployment of 232 General Duty Medical Officers (GDMOs) across various Delhi government hospitals to address longstanding vacancies, according to a statement from Raj Niwas. These doctors were appointed by the UPSC as part of ongoing efforts to fill vacant positions following directions from the LG.

“Appointed as Group ‘A’ officers, their postings have been facilitated through the NCSSA. They will be placed in hospitals such as Lok Nayak, Raja Harish Chandra, Lal Bahadur Shastri, and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, as well as in various CDMO offices,” the LG House stated.

The LG office further noted that these appointments aim to resolve challenges caused by years of delays in the recruitment of permanent doctors. Several Delhi government hospitals have been grappling with staffing shortages for years, an issue that has also sparked disagreements between the AAP government and Raj Niwas earlier this year. 【TNN】
