Karad, Maharashtra: Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences Ltd (KIMS) has entered into an operations and management agreement with Ushahkal Abhinav Institute of Medical Sciences (UAIMS Hospital) in Sangli, Maharashtra, further strengthening its healthcare footprint in the state.
Key Highlights of the Agreement
- Signed on: February 17, 2025
- Duration: 7 years (extendable by 3 years)
- Scope: KIMS will have exclusive rights to provide medical services for UAIMS’ current and future operations.
- Revenue Model: KIMS to receive 9% of UAIMS’ net revenue.
- First Right of Refusal (ROFR): KIMS holds the option to acquire profit-sharing from UAIMS’ existing partners during the contract period.
About UAIMS Hospital
- Established in: 2022
- Current Capacity: 316 beds (planned expansion to 500+ beds)
- Facilities Include:
- Advanced CT & MRI scanners
- 15 operation theatres
- 100+ critical care beds
- Dedicated mother & child care facility
- Large 4-acre campus with one of the highest floor-area-to-bed ratios in the region
- Upcoming Development:
- A daycare oncology center is under construction and is set to open in 2025.
KIMS’ Expansion Strategy in Maharashtra
KIMS has been actively expanding its network in Maharashtra:
- 2022: Acquired Kingsway Hospital in Nagpur
- 2024: Launched a hospital in Nashik
- 2025: Plans to open a 300-bed multi-specialty hospital in Thane in Q1 FY26

Stock Market Reaction
Despite the strategic expansion, KIMS’ stock declined by 3.85%, closing at ₹558.70 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on February 17, 2025.
