Chennai: Kauvery Hospital, Vadapalani, has been awarded the prestigious Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation, recognizing its commitment to patient safety, quality healthcare, and continuous improvement in medical practices.

JCI, a globally recognized U.S.-based non-profit organization, evaluates hospitals based on a 16-chapter framework that focuses on patient care, treatment standards, and hospital infrastructure. The accreditation process includes a five-day inspection to assess the hospital’s adherence to international quality benchmarks.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Aravindan Selvaraj, co-founder and executive director, Kauvery Group of Hospitals, emphasized the importance of maintaining high healthcare standards to provide timely and efficient medical treatment. He also highlighted the hospital’s efforts toward environmental sustainability, including the use of solar and wind energy, water recycling, paper reuse, and safe medical waste disposal.

Dr. Selvaraj further stressed the need for a streamlined medical visa process to facilitate access for international patients. He also pointed out that better flight connectivity could help Chennai regain its status as a leading healthcare destination.

Also present at the event were Dr. Iyyappan Ponnusamy and Dr. Poorna Chandran, Medical Directors at Kauvery Hospital, who reiterated the hospital’s commitment to upholding the highest standards in patient care and safety.

With this accreditation, Kauvery Hospital strengthens its position as a premier multispecialty healthcare institution, ensuring world-class medical services for patients in India and abroad.
