Hyderabad — The Dundigal police have registered a case of medical negligence against SV Super Speciality Hospital in Bahadurpally, following the death of a 26-year-old man, Kurra Paramesh, who was being treated for a leg injury.

Paramesh, a native of Erakaram village in Suryapet district and a resident of Hayathnagar, was admitted to the hospital after sustaining a leg injury. His family alleged that he was under treatment for two days and was told he would be discharged soon. However, they were later informed—without prior notice—that he had undergone brain surgery to remove a blood clot, after his condition became critical.

Patient Transferred, Declared Dead at Gandhi Hospital

Concerned about the lack of clear communication, Paramesh’s relatives transferred him to Gandhi Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. The family then lodged a complaint with Dundigal police, accusing SV Super Speciality Hospital of gross negligence.

Police have registered a case under IPC Section 304-A (now BNS Section 106), which deals with causing death by negligence. “We are investigating the complaint. While the family alleges negligence, the hospital maintains that the doctors followed protocol,” a senior police officer told The Times of India.

Hospital Denies Wrongdoing

Responding to the allegations, a duty manager from SV Super Speciality Hospital stated, “The doctors did their best. During treatment for the leg injury, the patient lost about 3 to 3.5 litres of blood, which led to a sharp drop in blood pressure, resulting in paralysis and a blood clot in the brain, necessitating emergency surgery.”

The hospital administration insists that the case is being misrepresented and that all necessary treatment was provided in time. The police are currently reviewing medical records and statements as part of the ongoing investigation.
