Hyderabad: Telangana Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha met with representatives of the Telangana Government Doctors Association on Wednesday to discuss strengthening medical services in government hospitals and addressing concerns faced by doctors.

During the meeting, doctors raised issues regarding GO MS No. 142, requesting necessary amendments. They also urged the minister to approve District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) posts in every district and sanction 66 civil surgeon general posts across 33 districts.

Additional demands included promotions for public health doctors, increasing posts based on cadre strength, and ensuring civil surgeon promotions through vertical seniority. The association also appealed to retain dental doctors in the public health department.

Responding to their concerns, Minister Rajanarsimha directed Health Secretary Dr. Christina Z. Chongthu to submit a detailed report on resolving these issues.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Chongthu, Public Health Director Dr. B. Ravinder Naik, and members of the Telangana Government Doctors Association.
