Nearly 60 Fraudulent Files Recovered from Galaxy One Hospital Raid
Gurgaon: Three employees of Galaxy One Hospital in Nihal Colony, New Palam Vihar, were arrested on Wednesday for their alleged involvement in a ₹1 crore fake insurance claim scam. Police said nearly 60 suspected fraudulent insurance claim files linked to around 25 firms were recovered during a raid at the hospital.
According to ACP (West) Abhilaksh Joshi, the fraud detected so far amounts to approximately ₹1 crore. Of the three arrested, two are residents of Gurgaon, while the third is from Rajasthan. Investigators believe the trio played a key role in preparing and processing fabricated insurance claims.
Police stated that the fraudulent claims were submitted to both government and private insurance companies, with nearly 60% of the claims reportedly cleared. The accused allegedly admitted individuals to the hospital’s inpatient department (IPD) only on paper, without any actual treatment being provided.
The scam was uncovered during a joint raid conducted by a team comprising a civil hospital doctor, a cyber expert, and a drug control officer. During the operation, officials seized around 60 fake insurance claim files from the premises.
Investigators revealed that fabricated IPD admission records were created to support the false claims. Fake medical documents, laboratory reports, pharmacy bills, and treatment invoices were allegedly prepared in collusion with beneficiaries, who then shared the proceeds with hospital staff.
The case came to light after the Mukhyamantri Udan Daste filed a complaint on February 14 at the Bajghera Police Station. Based on the complaint, an FIR was registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code pertaining to cheating, forgery, and use of forged documents.
Authorities also conducted a separate search at Labsvel, a shop located in Dayanand Colony, where additional fake laboratory reports and related documents were recovered. The findings strengthened suspicions of a wider network involved in the fraud.
Police officials stated that further investigations are underway to identify other individuals linked to the scam and to determine the total financial loss caused to insurance companies. More arrests and recoveries are expected as the probe progresses.
