Hospitals to be modernised, equipped with Ayushman Bharat services; Referral committees to ensure streamlined patient care

Kurukshetra: In a landmark move aimed at bolstering the public healthcare system, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced that starting August 15, free treatment for all diseases will be provided at one government hospital in every district headquarters across the state.

Addressing villagers during his visit to Kishanpura and Girdarpur, CM Saini said these selected hospitals would be upgraded with modern facilities and integrated with services under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. He also visited Ban, Behlolpur, and Jalkheri, engaging directly with residents to understand their concerns.

To ensure efficient medical referrals, Saini said that committees would be established in these hospitals to assess patients requiring transfers to tertiary care centres such as PGI Chandigarh.

During public meetings held at the Kishanpura community centre and the Gurdwara hall in Girdarpur, the CM instructed officials to act immediately on local complaints. He also launched a tree plantation drive and announced grants of ₹21 lakh each for developmental works in both villages.

Reaffirming his connection with the Ladwa constituency, Saini said, “It is because of the people of Ladwa that I am the Chief Minister. Ladwa holds a special place in Haryana’s development roadmap.” He added that projects worth over ₹110 crore are currently in progress in the constituency.

The Chief Minister encouraged citizens to submit their issues in writing to Deputy Commissioner Neha Singh, local officials, or directly to the CM’s office. He also welcomed the public to meet him in Chandigarh in urgent cases.

Key dignitaries present included CM Office In-Charge Kailash Saini, Kurukshetra Deputy Commissioner Neha Singh, Superintendent of Police Nitish Aggarwal, along with local sarpanches and community leaders.
