Accused Allegedly Performed Surgeries Leading to Multiple Deaths; Mission Hospital Lab Sealed

Damoh, Madhya Pradesh: The Damoh police have launched an extensive investigation into Narendra Vikramaditya Yadav, also known as Narendra John Camm, who allegedly posed as a U.K.-based cardiologist and conducted critical medical procedures without proper qualifications. Authorities are now reaching out to foreign medical institutions to verify his claims of international medical training.

Superintendent of Police Shrutkirti Somvanshi confirmed that Yadav holds a genuine MBBS degree from the University of North Bengal, but failed to clear entrance exams for a postgraduate medical program in India. Despite this, he allegedly forged several advanced medical degrees, including MD certificates from various Indian universities.

Yadav further claimed to have pursued additional medical certifications abroad, including the Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians (MRCP) in London. “We have written to the institutions he mentioned and are awaiting responses. We’re also gathering his foreign travel records to verify these assertions,” SP Somvanshi said.

Arrest and Medical Malpractice Allegations

Yadav was arrested on April 7 in Uttar Pradesh following multiple allegations that he had performed procedures such as angioplasty and angiography at Damoh’s Mission Hospital, allegedly resulting in several patient deaths.

Authorities acted swiftly after suspicions about his credentials were raised, leading to a criminal investigation and public outcry.

Lab Sealed Amid Human Rights Concerns

As part of the probe, officials have sealed the cardiac catheterisation lab at Mission Hospital, labeling it a “place of evidence.” A district official stated that the action followed a visit from the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), whose team flagged serious irregularities in the lab’s operations.

The investigation remains ongoing, with police coordinating with multiple national and international bodies to uncover the full extent of the alleged fraud.
