Jalore : The burnt body of a doctor was discovered in his room at a government Ayurveda hospital in Ummedabad village, Jalore district, on Monday morning. Authorities suspect that the fire may have been caused by smoking.

The victim, Dr. Muralilal Meena (45), was an Ayurvedic doctor who lived in a room within the hospital premises. His family was away in Jaipur attending a wedding when the incident occurred.

According to Circle Officer Gautam Jain, the police received information about smoke coming from Meena’s room early in the morning. Upon arrival, they discovered his charred body and sent it for post-mortem examination.

Preliminary investigation suggests that smoking in the room may have ignited the fire. Police also noted that Dr. Meena had mobility issues due to body pain and knee problems, which could have hindered his ability to escape the fire.

At present, no case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
