A tragic road accident in Narsingi claimed the life of a young doctor in the early hours of Saturday. Dr. V. Jayanth, 24, a house surgeon at a corporate hospital, lost his life in the crash, while his colleague, Bhoomika, sustained severe injuries but survived.
The accident occurred around 4:30 am when Jayanth and Bhoomika were returning home after attending a wedding in Shankarpally on Friday night. Jayanth, who was driving the SUV, reportedly lost control near Khanapur, causing the vehicle to crash into a large advertisement hoarding pole on the median at high speed.
The impact was fatal, killing Jayanth instantly, while Bhoomika was critically injured and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Jayanth was a resident of Bachupally, whereas Bhoomika, also a house surgeon, lives in LB Nagar.
The crash left the front portion of the SUV completely mangled, with its tires ripped off. Local residents immediately alerted the police, who arrived at the scene promptly. Following the accident, authorities registered a case of negligence resulting in death based on Bhoomika’s complaint.
Jayanth’s body has been shifted to Osmania General Hospital for a postmortem examination.
