Medical Negligence and Intoxication Alleged in Tragic Incident

Sasaram: A shocking case of medical negligence has emerged at Bhabhua Sadar Hospital, where a doctor on emergency duty was arrested for being intoxicated following the death of a 30-year-old woman on Friday night. Bhabhua SDPO Shiv Shankar Prasad confirmed the arrest.

Patient Left Untreated for Hours

The deceased, Nasarin Khatun, a resident of Beur village in Chainpur block, Kaimur district, was brought to the hospital in the evening with severe stomach pain. Despite her critical condition, Dr. Vinay Tiwari, who was on duty, allegedly ignored her distress and directed her to a ward on the fourth floor without attending to her.

Her family members desperately pleaded for help, but no doctor or paramedical staff came forward. After two hours of agony, she was declared dead.

Doctor Found Drunk, Arrested on the Spot

Following the family’s protest, police and civil SDO Bhabhua intervened and found Dr. Tiwari intoxicated. A medical test confirmed his inebriation, leading to his immediate arrest.

Authorities’ Response

When contacted, ACMO and officiating civil surgeon Dr. S.K. Manjhi acknowledged the death but refused to comment further on the matter.

The incident has raised serious concerns over medical negligence and accountability, prompting demands for strict action against those responsible.
