New Delhi: In response to worsening air pollution, the Delhi government has directed all its hospitals to form specialist teams to address the surge in respiratory ailments.

The Delhi Health Department has instructed hospitals to monitor and report daily cases of respiratory issues, including both outpatient (OPD) and inpatient (IPD) numbers. Any unusual increase in such cases must be flagged immediately, officials said.

Daily reports will be submitted to Dr. Govind Mawari, Senior Scientist at the Centre for Occupational & Environmental Health (COEH), to ensure effective tracking and intervention.

The advisory further mandates the designation of specialists in respiratory care to provide comprehensive treatment to affected patients.
