New AYUSH Initiative Aims to Expand Affordable Holistic Treatment and Stress Management Services in Delhi
The Delhi government has announced the launch of Homeopathy and Unani outpatient department (OPD) clinics at Chaudhary Brahm Prakash Ayurved Charak Sansthan (CBPACS) as part of its efforts to strengthen integrated AYUSH-based healthcare services in the national capital.
According to officials, the initiative will be implemented through the Directorate of AYUSH under the Government of NCT of Delhi. The move is aimed at providing accessible and holistic healthcare services through multiple AYUSH systems, including Ayurveda, Yoga, Homeopathy and Unani.
Under the arrangement, the Directorate of AYUSH will deploy doctors and supporting staff for the OPD services and bear all operational expenses related to the clinics. Meanwhile, CBPACS, an autonomous institute functioning under Delhi’s Health and Family Welfare Department, will provide the necessary infrastructure and institutional support for the functioning of these services.
Delhi Government Focuses on Integrated and Preventive Healthcare
Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh said the government remains committed to strengthening affordable and holistic healthcare facilities for residents.
“The introduction of Homeopathy and Unani OPD services at CBPACS will further expand access to integrated AYUSH-based treatment and stress management facilities in the national capital,” Singh said.
Officials stated that the OPD clinics are expected to promote stress management and overall wellness through evidence-based AYUSH interventions. The initiative is also intended to strengthen preventive healthcare by bringing multiple AYUSH treatment systems under one platform.
Research Bodies to Support Evidence-Based AYUSH Treatment
The government said premier research organisations, including the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences, Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine and Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy, have been associated with the initiative.
These organisations will help generate scientific evidence regarding the effectiveness of AYUSH systems in stress management and holistic healthcare services.
Initiative Launched Under CM Rekha Gupta’s Leadership
The Delhi government said the initiative is being undertaken under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta as part of broader efforts to strengthen public healthcare infrastructure and improve access to affordable treatment facilities across different streams of medicine in the capital.
