New Delhi: Students at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi are holding a protest against the administration. They are demanding the creation of a College of Optometry, implementation of the Ministry of Health’s curriculum, better hostel facilities, and improved women’s safety.

Naseer Hassan, a Bachelor of Optometry student, stated that their primary demand is education. He mentioned that AIIMS has not implemented the curriculum set by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. He also highlighted the lack of assigned teachers and hostel facilities, as well as concerns about female safety. First-year medical student Asha Choudhary complained about the delay in hostel allotment and women’s safety. She said, “We have been sitting on protest outside the office for the last 20 days. But we are not being heard.” Second-year medical student Anil Yadav alleged that students are being “tortured” and “threatened” to end their protest. He mentioned that despite multiple meetings, they have not received any response from the administration.
