Unqualified Practitioners in Vikarabad and Rajanna Sircilla Districts Face Legal Action

In a significant operation targeting unqualified medical practitioners, Telangana police arrested four individuals for illegally practicing medicine across Vikarabad and Rajanna Sircilla districts. Acting on complaints from the Telangana Medical Council (TGMC), the arrests follow investigations into medical negligence and unlawful medical practices.

Negligence Leads to Fatality in Rajanna Sircilla

In Yellareddypet Mandal, self-proclaimed Rural Medical Practitioner (RMP) Jajjari Devender was arrested for the death of 30-year-old Mohammed Khasimbi from Samudralingapur. Khasimbi sought treatment from Devender for fever, but his unqualified administration of injections and glucose caused her condition to worsen. She passed away on December 28 after being admitted to Ashwini Hospital. Based on a complaint from her husband, Mohammed Azim, Yellareddypet police arrested Devender, confirmed Siricilla DSP Chandrasekhar Reddy.

Three Arrests in Vikarabad for Illegal Medical Practice

TGMC officials, during inspections last month, identified three fake doctors operating in Vikarabad:

  • G. Nagender, Manager of Royal First Aid Center
  • K. Nagaiah, Manager of Sri Vishnu Clinic
  • M. Danappa, Manager of Deepika First Aid Center

The individuals were arrested on December 28 under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, National Medical Commission Act, and Telangana Medical Practitioners Registrations Act.

Officials Urge Public Caution

Dr. G. Srinivas, TGMC Vice Chairman, highlighted the dangers of unqualified practitioners jeopardizing public health. Dr. Naresh Kumar, Chairman of TGMC Public Relations Committee, warned against relying on prescriptions from RMPs and PMPs, particularly antibiotics and steroids, which can lead to severe complications.

This operation underscores the critical need for stringent action against fake medical practitioners to safeguard public health and ensure accountability in the medical field.
