The Chhattisgarh State Nodal Agency has initiated action against 59 hospitals empanelled under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana for failing to meet mandatory requirements under the Hospital Empanelment Module (HEM 2.0).
Action Follows National Health Authority Directives
Officials confirmed that the move comes after directions from the National Health Authority, which had instructed all empanelled hospitals to update institutional profiles and upload required documents on the HEM 2.0 portal by December 31, 2025.
Despite multiple warnings and deadlines, several hospitals failed to comply, prompting district-level reviews and subsequent action.
21 Hospitals Suspended for Non-Submission
Based on the review, 21 hospitals have been suspended until further orders for not submitting any application. These include facilities such as New Ayushman Hospital (Bemetara), AP Surgical Center, IMI Hospital, Aum Hospital, Sai Kripa Multispeciality Hospital, Gangotri Hospital (Durg), and multiple hospitals across Raipur including Shivam Hospital, Saubhagya Hospital, and Maa Sharda Nursing Home.
12 Hospitals Penalised for Failure to Update Information
Another 12 hospitals have been flagged for not updating their details or responding to official queries. These include Pinaki Sobha Hospital & Maternity Care (GPM), MD Modi Memorial Hospital (Janjgir-Champa), Netam Hospital & Infertility Centre (Kondagaon), and several Raipur-based facilities like Shree Krishna Multispeciality Hospital and Life Care Hospital.
26 Hospitals Face Payment and Pre-Authorisation Suspension
Additionally, 26 hospitals with incomplete applications that were not resubmitted have had their payments and pre-authorisations suspended. Prominent names in this category include Shakuntala Hospital (Balod), Suvidha Hospital (Durg), Roop Jeevan Hospital (Kabirdham), and several institutions in Raipur such as Raipur Hospital & Research Center, Sadbhavna Hospital, and Chhattisgarh Eye Hospital.
Government Tightens Monitoring of Empanelled Hospitals
The action highlights the state government’s stricter enforcement of compliance norms under PM-JAY. Authorities emphasized that hospitals must adhere to digital documentation and verification processes to ensure transparency, accountability, and uninterrupted patient services.
Focus on Strengthening Scheme Implementation
By taking disciplinary action, the state aims to streamline operations under Ayushman Bharat and ensure that only compliant and properly documented hospitals continue to provide services under the scheme. Officials reiterated that further action may follow if institutions fail to rectify deficiencies within the stipulated timelines.
