In a chilling incident from Sirsi, a well-known Ayurvedic practitioner was found brutally murdered at his residence just days before his scheduled wedding, sending shockwaves across the region.
Body Found Inside Locked House
According to reports, the 51-year-old doctor had been living alone since the recent demise of his wife. The incident came to light when relatives arrived at his home to begin wedding preparations. After receiving no response and finding the door locked from inside, they broke it open—only to discover his lifeless body with severe head injuries.
Wedding Plans Turn Into Tragedy
The doctor, who ran a clinic on Hubballi Road, was preparing to remarry—this time to his late wife’s sister. The wedding was scheduled to take place at the revered Manjuguni Temple, just a day after the tragic murder occurred.
His first wife had passed away due to a heart attack barely five months ago, making the incident even more heartbreaking for family and close acquaintances.
Theft Suspected as Key Motive
Police officials suspect robbery as a possible motive behind the crime. Sources revealed that the doctor had recently retrieved jewellery belonging to his late wife from a bank, intending to hand it over to his prospective bride.
Investigators are currently verifying whether any valuables are missing and are also exploring other possible angles to rule out personal or financial disputes.
Family Away During Incident
At the time of the murder, the doctor’s children were not present. One of them is pursuing engineering studies in Bengaluru, while the other is working as a doctor in West Bengal.

Senior police officials, including SP Deepan and CPI Shashikant Verma, visited the crime scene and initiated a detailed investigation. Forensic teams have been deployed, and multiple police units are working to track down the accused.
