Vadodara: A doctor specializing in Ayurveda was arrested for illegally practicing allopathy in the city. Mantosh Biswas, who holds a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) degree from West Bengal, was operating a clinic in Nandesari for several years.
The police were alerted to his activities following a tip-off, after which they raided his clinic. During the raid, authorities found that Biswas was prescribing allopathic medicines and had a stock of allopathic injections. Furthermore, he lacked registration with the Gujarat Board of Ayurvedic and Unani Systems of Medicine to practice in the state.
The police seized all the allopathic medicines and injections found at the clinic and have initiated further investigations. Biswas is now facing charges for practicing medicine beyond his legal qualifications.
