A doctor working in the anaesthesiology department at a district hospital in Badaun, Uttar Pradesh, was found dead at his residence under suspicious circumstances, triggering a police investigation.

Doctor Found Unresponsive Inside Locked Bathroom

According to preliminary reports, the doctor was discovered lying unresponsive in his bathroom by colleagues who had gone to check on him after he failed to respond to calls. The bathroom door was locked from the inside, raising concerns and prompting immediate police intervention.

Authorities were alerted, and local Kotwali police reached the scene to conduct an initial inspection.

Suspected Heart Attack During Bath

Early indications suggest that the anaesthesiologist may have suffered a heart attack while bathing, leading to his sudden collapse. However, officials have stated that the exact cause of death will only be confirmed after the postmortem examination.

Medical History Raises Concerns

The deceased doctor, originally from Mainpuri district, had his family based in Moradabad. Family members reportedly tried contacting him multiple times, but received no response.

Reports indicate that he had a history of cardiac issues and had previously suffered two heart attacks. He was also undergoing treatment at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.

Police Investigation Underway

Police have sent the body for postmortem to determine the precise cause of death. While initial signs point towards a natural cause, authorities are not ruling out any possibilities and have initiated a detailed investigation.

Rising Concerns Over Doctor Well-being

The incident has once again highlighted concerns regarding the health and stress levels among medical professionals. In a separate recent case, a young woman anaesthesiologist in Chennai reportedly died by suicide following prolonged personal distress, underscoring the mental and physical challenges faced by healthcare workers.

Authorities are expected to release further details once the postmortem report is available.
