New Delhi: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has extended the deadline for medical colleges to submit first-year MBBS student details for the 2024-25 academic year to November 23, 2024, after many colleges had not fully submitted information by the initial November 8 deadline. Colleges can submit these details through the NMC’s online portal at http://www.nmc.org.in.
The NMC also reminded colleges that MBBS admissions must comply with the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, and NEET-based selection guidelines under the Graduate Medical Education Regulation 2024. Key admission requirements include:
- Admissions must not exceed each college’s sanctioned intake capacity.
- All admissions must be conducted through a common counseling process as per NMC regulations.
- Eligibility criteria mandate candidates to:
- Be at least 17 years old by December 31 of the admission year.
- Have passed the 10+2 examination.
- Qualify NEET-UG with specific minimum percentiles: 50th for general, 45th for physically handicapped, and 40th for SC/ST/OBC categories.
