Kasaragod Magistrate files complaint against two government doctors in Sullia

Sullia:  Two doctors of Sullia government hospital are in trouble for refusing to issue health certificate to a Magistrate from Kasaragod district. The Magistrate has filed a complaint accusing the two doctors of refusing to issue health certificate about the health condition of a girl who has attempted suicide and was undergoing treatment in the hospital.

The Magistrate, Abdul Basith is the 2nd Judicial Magistrate First Class, Kasaragod has filed a complaint with the Sullia police alleging that he along with the Adoor police came to the hospital at around 2 am to record the statement of a girl who had attempted suicide and was undergoing treatment in the hospital. He sought a certificate from Dr.Vinay ICU doctor about the girl’s health condition. Dr. Vinay desisted from giving the certificate and asked the magistrate to wait for medical officer Dr. Soumya. The Magistrate further alleged that Dr. Soumya too refused to issue certificate in the absence of a written request from the Magistrate. The Magistrate in his complaint alleged that by refusing to issue health certificate of the girl the two government doctors have obstructed him to perform his official duty.
