MOS Health inaugrates the 7th International Health & Wellness Expo

New Delhi – Pratap Rao Jadhav, Minister of state (Independent Charge) of Ministry of AYUSH, inaugurated the 7th International Health and Wellness Expo organized by the Namo Gange Trust at Pragati Maidan, Delhi on August 29, 2024 . Notable dignitaries present at the event included Padma Shri Dr. Chandrakant S. Pandav, Padma Shri Dr. Mohsin Wali, Dr. Kapil Kumar, Dr. Kavita Tyagi, Dr. Manoj Tayal, Dr. Anupam Sachdeva, Dr. Manish Kaushik, Dr. Neelam Sachdeva, Dr. Sonal Gupta, Dr. Renuka Gupta, Dr. Manoj K. Sharma, Dr. Pawan Kesarwani, and Dr. Manju Kesarwani. The guests were warmly welcomed by Namo Gange Trust’s Chairman, Vijay Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, and other members of the Trust. Pankaj Tripathi, the media in-charge of Namo Gange Trust, expressed gratitude to all the guests and media personnel who attended the inaugural day of the Expo. All the trustees of Namo Gange and the Director of Global Health, Deepti Sharma Joshi, were prominently present  on this occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister of State for AYUSH (Independent Charge) Pratap Rao Jadhav highlighted that the 7th International Health and Wellness Expo is a significant opportunity to raise awareness about health and wellness among the public.In his inaugural address, Minister Jadhav stated that promoting a healthy India is a key agenda for the government. The AYUSH Ministry is planning to soon launch a nationwide health screening and checkup program to detect diseases at an early stage and help maintain people’s well-being. He also emphasized the importance of medicinal plants and announced the government’s goal to raise awareness about their benefits and encourage widespread plantation to make India self-reliant in this sector. After the inauguration, he visited several stalls, including the National Medicinal Plants Board’s exhibit, where he gathered insights on various medicinal herbs.

The Expo features stalls by several state and central government ministries, as well as private organizations. Notable participants include the Ministry of AYUSH, CSIR, MDES, ICAR, NRDC, CDB, the National Medicinal Plants Board, and Uttarakhand Forest Resource Management-JICA. In total, 91 stalls related to Ayurveda, horticulture, wellness, and other sectors are on display.

The 7th International Health and Wellness Expo is the largest exhibition of AYUSH practices in India. Namo Gange Trust has been actively promoting AYUSH for the past decade. Renowned personalities, including Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev and Padma Shri and Padma Vibhushan awardee doctors, will also be attending the event. Thousands of students are participating in a three-day seminar on holistic health, guided by AYUSH experts. AYUSH universities, alongside the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) and students from the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), are also present.
