New Delhi : The Ethics and Medical Registration Board (EMRB) of the NMC has wrote to the State Medical Councils to spread awareness among the Registered Medical Practitioners (RMP) about the NMC regulations which strictly prohibits RMPs not to display and use unrecognized qualifications or else face punishment for the same. The EMRB letter has brought to the notice of State Medical Councils the instances of RMPs claiming to be a specialist despite not having the requisite qualification in a particular branch. The EMRB letter further states that the NMC desires to increase the awareness among the citizen and RMP’s using the unrecognized qualifications in this regard and the punitive action that comes with it which includes the suspension/cancellation of their medical registrations in accordance to the law.
