Mumbai, January 3, 2026: Max Healthcare Institute Ltd (MHIL), one of India’s largest private sector healthcare companies, has announced its entry into Pune with plans to establish a 450-bed super speciality hospital, involving an investment of over ₹1,000 crore.
Prime Location in Pune
The new facility will be located in Yerawada, one of Pune’s centrally situated and rapidly developing areas. The hospital is expected to be commissioned over the next three years, offering state-of-the-art medical care to patients in the region.
Strengthening Presence in Western India
This hospital will mark Max Healthcare’s fourth facility in Western India, reinforcing its commitment to expanding high-quality healthcare services across Maharashtra.

Commenting on the development, Mr. Abhay Soi, Chairman and Managing Director of Max Healthcare, said, “Pune is one of India’s fastest-growing urban centres with a strong economic base and an expanding middle-class population. Acquisition and Development Plan
The project involves a staggered acquisition of a 100% equity stake in Yerawada Properties Private Limited (YPPL), Pune, followed by the development of the hospital over the next three years.

Earlier reports highlighted Max Healthcare’s efforts to collaborate with global institutions. The company recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Monash University to advance medical research, training, and academic collaboration, reflecting its commitment to innovation and excellence in healthcare.
