doctor arrest

Palakkad : A woman was arrested on Saturday for abducting a four-month-old baby girl from the Attappady Tribal Taluk Speciality Hospital in Kottathara.

The incident occurred around mid-day when the accused, posing as a caregiver for another patient, allegedly lured the infant’s mother to the hospital canteen for lunch. Taking advantage of the opportunity, she fled with the child who was lying on a nearby bed.

Upon discovering her child missing, the distressed mother alerted hospital authorities, who promptly informed the police. Surveillance footage helped police trace the woman to Goolikkadavu, where she was apprehended.

Police suspect a child abduction racket may be behind the incident and are currently interrogating the accused. A detailed investigation is underway.
