Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak Directs Strict Monitoring of Doctors’ Attendance, OPD, IPD and Patient Care Services
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak has ordered strict action against government doctors accused of remaining absent from duty for prolonged periods and failing to discharge their responsibilities at government hospitals। Following a review by the Health Department, 26 doctors have been dismissed from service, while departmental action has been ordered against nine other doctors।
According to officials, the action followed a review of cases involving doctors accused of prolonged absence and negligence in their medical duties। Departmental proceedings have also been ordered against nine doctors for allegedly disobeying orders of senior officials and neglecting their responsibilities।
26 Doctors Dismissed From Service
The dismissed doctors include specialists and medical officers posted across several districts of Uttar Pradesh। The districts include Firozabad, Aligarh, Ghazipur, Hardoi, Mahoba, Bulandshahr, Lucknow, Balrampur, Mathura, Mirzapur, Jhansi, Bareilly, Gorakhpur, Saharanpur, Moradabad, Chandauli, Mainpuri, Mau, Sultanpur and Muzaffarnagar।
The Health Department said the action was taken following examination of cases related to prolonged absence and alleged negligence। The authorities have also initiated proceedings against nine other doctors over alleged disobedience of orders issued by senior officials and negligence in medical duties।
Brajesh Pathak Warns Doctors Against Neglecting Duties
Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak said the primary responsibility of doctors posted at government hospitals is to provide timely, quality and appropriate treatment to patients। He warned that strict action would continue against doctors who remain absent from duty or neglect their medical responsibilities।
Pathak also directed officials to regularly monitor doctors’ attendance, as well as OPD and IPD services and the treatment being provided to patients at government hospitals।
Departmental Proceedings Ordered Against Nine Doctors
The orders for departmental proceedings against nine doctors were issued by the Deputy Chief Minister through the Additional Chief Secretary, Health।
The Health Department said further action would be taken according to applicable rules if negligence or other violations are established at any level। The government has emphasised monitoring of attendance and patient-care services to ensure that doctors posted at public hospitals remain available to patients.

The latest action reflects the Uttar Pradesh government’s stated focus on accountability among medical officers and specialists working in government healthcare facilities। Authorities have indicated that prolonged unauthorised absence, negligence in clinical responsibilities and failure to follow official directions may invite disciplinary action under applicable service rules।
