Gwalior: Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Friday inaugurated a state-of-the-art MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) centre at Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia District Hospital in Murar, Gwalior.
The 1.5 Tesla MRI machine, installed at a cost of ₹13 crores, will significantly improve access to high-quality diagnostic services for patients.
Affordable MRI Services for Patients
Dr Sachin Srivastava, Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO), highlighted the cost benefits of the new facility:
“The MRI examination, which costs around ₹5,000-₹6,000 in private hospitals, will now be available here for a maximum of ₹1,500. Moreover, the test will be free for Ayushman cardholders and Below Poverty Line (BPL) patients.”
The MRI centre operates under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, following a similar setup in Bhopal.
Scindia Lauds Healthcare Development
Speaking at the event, Union Minister Scindia expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, and health department officials for their contributions:
“The installation of an MRI machine worth ₹13 crores is a major achievement for Gwalior. With this modern facility, our hospital in Murar has taken a significant step forward in healthcare infrastructure.”
Global Investor Summit 2025 in Madhya Pradesh
Commenting on the upcoming Invest Madhya Pradesh Global Investor Summit (GIS) 2025, scheduled for February 24-25 in Bhopal, Scindia said:
“Madhya Pradesh is emerging as a key player in industrial growth. Under the leadership of PM Modi and CM Mohan Yadav, the state is witnessing increased investment interest.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the two-day summit, while Union Home Minister Amit Shah will attend the closing ceremony. The event aims to highlight Madhya Pradesh’s investment climate and attract global collaborations in various industries.
