Hospital Staff Break Open Door, Rush Unconscious Doctor for Emergency Treatment
In a disturbing incident in Thane district, a doctor allegedly attempted suicide on Tuesday by consuming a large quantity of sleeping pills along with alcohol following a dispute with his wife. He is currently undergoing treatment, and his condition is reported to be stable.
The matter came to light when the doctor failed to report to his hospital the next day as per his usual routine. Repeated phone calls from hospital staff went unanswered, raising concerns about his wellbeing.
Worried colleagues visited his residence to check on him. When they found the door locked from the inside and received no response to repeated knocks, they broke open the door and discovered him lying unconscious on the floor.
He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors provided emergency medical care. After treatment, he regained consciousness and is now said to be out of danger.
According to police, the doctor, who runs a hospital jointly with his wife, had reportedly consumed around 10 beers and 45 sleeping pills at a separate flat he had recently moved into in Dombivli East.
Preliminary investigations suggest that he was under significant mental stress. Police sources indicated that an alleged affair with a nurse working at his hospital had led to personal and marital tensions.
Officials stated that the nurse was allegedly pressuring him for marriage, which resulted in frequent arguments between the doctor and his wife. Investigators believe that a breakdown in communication between the two may have further affected his emotional state.
The Vishnunagar police have registered a case and initiated further inquiries to establish the exact sequence of events. Statements are being recorded, and authorities have said that all aspects of the case are under examination.
