TGMC crackdown exposes alleged fake qualifications and unauthorised allopathic treatment at clinics in Hyderabad; public urged to report quacks
The Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) intensified its crackdown on unauthorised medical practice by conducting surprise inspections at three clinics in Hyderabad’s Saidabad and Singareni Colony on June 26. The raids allegedly uncovered illegal allopathic practice, false qualifications, and violations of medical regulations, prompting the Council to warn of strict action against offenders.
Three Clinics Found Allegedly Violating Medical Regulations
During the inspections, TGMC officials raided Srinivasa Medical & General Clinic, Hanumant Nayak Clinic, and DRK Clinic. According to the Council, the clinics were allegedly operating in violation of medical laws governing the practice of modern medicine.
Officials stated that Srinivasa Medical & General Clinic and Hanumant Nayak Clinic were allegedly providing allopathic treatment without recognised medical qualifications or legal authorisation.
BAMS Practitioner Accused of Unauthorised Modern Medicine Practice
At DRK Clinic, the Council found that the practitioner, who reportedly holds a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) degree, was allegedly practising allopathic medicine without the required authorisation.
TGMC reiterated that only qualified and authorised medical professionals are permitted to practise allopathic medicine in accordance with applicable regulations.
TGMC Warns Against Unsafe Drug Administration
According to the Council, the accused practitioners were allegedly administering steroids, painkillers, antibiotic injections, and Schedule-H drugs indiscriminately without adhering to established medical protocols.
The Council cautioned that such practices could seriously endanger patient safety, contribute to irrational drug use, and violate statutory medical regulations.
Public Asked to Consult Registered Doctors
TGMC has urged the public to seek treatment only from doctors registered with the Telangana Medical Council and to remain vigilant against clinics displaying unrecognised qualifications or false degrees.
The Council also appealed to citizens to report suspected fake doctors and illegal medical practice through its helpline (9154382727), assuring continued inspections and strict enforcement across the state to safeguard public health.
Continued Statewide Crackdown on Quackery
The latest enforcement drive is part of TGMC’s ongoing campaign against unauthorised medical practice across Telangana. In recent weeks, the Council has identified several allegedly illegal clinics in Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, and Nizamabad districts as part of its statewide efforts to curb quackery and ensure compliance with medical regulations.
