Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Medical Council (TNMC) has officially invited nominations for the ‘Medical Council Awards 2025 for Medical Excellence’, recognizing outstanding contributions by doctors across Tamil Nadu. The awards aim to honour excellence in teaching, research, and socio-medical service.
Categories for Nomination:
- Eminent Medical Teacher Awards
- Specialities & Research Awards
- Outstanding Service in the Field of Socio Medical Relief Awards
Eligible doctors can submit their applications in the prescribed format, along with supporting documents, by 3:00 PM on 20th June 2025.
General Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be registered with the Tamil Nadu Medical Council.
- Should have unblemished moral, ethical, and professional conduct.
- No pending criminal cases.
Selection Process:
A Selection Committee will assess nominations based on a scoring system. Final awardees will be chosen based on consolidated scores and honoured at a ceremony in Chennai (date to be announced).
Key Evaluation Parameters Include:
- Minimum 15 years of experience in the category.
- Additional academic qualifications, publications, or contributions to medical textbooks.
- Presentations in national/international conferences.
- Active student engagement, CME activities, and community service.
- Medical services in hilly/tribal regions.
- Membership in IMA, speciality associations, NGOs, etc.
Applicants must submit self-attested photocopies of all credentials (certificates, publications, awards, etc.) along with the application. Originals may be required upon request.
