The Tamil Nadu Health Department has issued a series of promotion and transfer orders involving senior officials of the Directorate of Medical and Rural Health Services and government medical colleges. The reshuffle is aimed at filling key vacancies and strengthening administrative leadership across government healthcare institutions and medical colleges in the state.
Senior Officials Promoted and Transferred
As part of the reshuffle, the Deputy Director of Medical Services (Leprosy), Chennai, has been promoted and appointed as Joint Director of Non-Communicable Diseases in the Directorate of Family Welfare, Chennai.
Dr R Jayageetha, Joint Director of Health Services in Sivaganga district, has also been transferred and posted to the Tamil Nadu Health System Project in Chennai in the same capacity.
The orders include several appointments to senior administrative positions in government medical colleges and healthcare institutions across Tamil Nadu.
New Deans Appointed to Government Medical Colleges
Dr R Mani, Director of the TN Multi Super Speciality Hospital at the Omandurar Government Estate in Chennai, has been posted as Dean of Pudukottai Medical College.
Following the appointment, Dr VV Kannan, Professor of Paediatric Surgery at Tirunelveli Medical College, has been appointed as Director of the Omandurar hospital.
The department has also appointed Dr G Balaji, Professor of Ophthalmology at Madras Medical College, as Dean of Tiruvallur Medical College.
The incumbent Dean of Tiruvallur Medical College, Dr V P Mohan Gandhi, has been transferred and posted as Dean of Nagapattinam Medical College.
Reshuffle to Strengthen Administrative Leadership
The latest promotion and transfer orders cover key positions in the state’s government healthcare and medical education system. The changes are expected to help address vacancies and strengthen administrative leadership at government medical colleges and other healthcare institutions.
