Phagwara : The State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has requested an urgent report from the Civil Surgeon of Phagwara regarding significant staff and equipment shortages at the Civil Hospital. This action follows an October 16 complaint highlighting that 50% of staff positions remain vacant, affecting patient care.

Ex-BJP MP Avinash Rai Khanna Raises Issue with SHRC

Former BJP MP Avinash Rai Khanna recently raised concerns with the SHRC, reporting that over 60 medical and paramedical positions are unfilled at Phagwara’s Civil Hospital, hampering healthcare delivery. SHRC Chairperson Justice Sant Prakash has directed the Civil Surgeon to submit a detailed report by February 24, ahead of the next hearing.
